    4. Dangers of black powder. Air gaps, fire, static, ect.

    - The .36 caliber usually uses a .375 ball but some shooters favor a .380


    - The open top Colts will use either the .451 or .454


    - The Remington will usually use the .454


    - The Rogers and Spencer will use the .454

    Smooth Function & Timing

    - Look over your revolver to make sure the timing is close enough and that it functions as intended by the manufacturer.


    - Operation should be smooth and the hammer should fall without restriction

    Barrel / Cylinder Gap

    - For open top revolvers set this gap up at approximately 004 to .007


    - Make sure the wedge is installed properly


    - Remington .004 to .007


    - Ruger—use stock setting unless there is a problem
